Dongguan Institute of Technology is the first ordinary undergraduate college in Dongguan. It is jointly built by provinces and cities, mainly cities. Dr. Yang Zhenning, Nobel laureate in physics, is the honorary president.
The school currently has two campuses, Songshan Lake and Guancheng. Among them, Songshan Lake Campus is located at No. 1 University Road, Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Development Zone, covering an area of more than 1,800 mu (including 370 mu of international cooperation and innovation zone); and Guancheng campus is located at No. 251 Xueyuan Road, Guancheng District, covering an area of more than 330 mu. At present, there are 1,732 faculty and staff, including 180 senior titles, 387 deputy senior titles and 797 doctors. There are nearly 20,000 ordinary full-time students and more than 20,000 students in continuing education. So far, about 120,000 talents of all kinds have been trained for localities, and about 80% of graduates have stayed in Dongguan for employment and entrepreneurship.
