Hubei University of Technology is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, covering nine university disciplines such as engineering, liberal arts, science, art, economics, management, law, teaching and medicine. The school was founded in 1952. In 1984, it was merged into Hubei Institute of Light Industry and Hubei Agricultural Machinery College to form Hubei Institute of Technology. In 2004, it was renamed Hubei University of Technology. The school is a key construction university in Hubei Province. It has been positioned by the provincial party committee and the provincial government as a "leading exemplary and high-level backbone university in the Hubei provincial higher education system"; it has a rich level of running the school, and has the right to recommend outstanding undergraduates to study for master's degree without examination and the right to award doctoral degrees. In 2010, it won the "Full The title of college with typical employment experience for Chinese graduates; in 2014, the school as a whole entered the ranks of a university; in 2012, 2016, and 2021, it was selected as the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest" three times in a row; and in 2016, it was selected as the "First Demonstrations of Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in China. "Universities" was selected into the top 50 national innovative and entrepreneurial classic universities of the Ministry of Education in 2018, and the national civilized campus advanced school in 2021.
